Welcome Alexander Vezenkov | Visiting Researcher
We are delighted to welcome Alexander Vezenkov to the ScienceCampus as a visiting fellow. He will be based at IOS with an office at the Graduate School throughout March 2024.
Alexander Vezenkov holds a PhD in History from the University of Sofia (2001). Since 2023, Vezenkov is part of the MACAUTH project (ERC Starting Grant), led by principal investigator Tasos Kostopoulos, at the Institute of Mediterranean Studies in Rethymno (IMS-FORTH). His research interests encompass the history and conceptual evolution of the Balkans, South Eastern Europe, and Balkan/SEE Studies, alongside his current focus on investigating the ideological underpinnings and institutional history of Bulgaria's authoritarian regime during the "non-party regime" era (1934–1944).
On 6 March 2024 at 12:00 he will give a guest talk on The Non-Party Regime(s) in Bulgaria (1934–1944) in Comparative Perspective at IOS Regensburg (Altes Finanzamt, room 017). He will also participate in a more informal Meet the Visiting Researchers session, where you can learn more about him, his research and his home institution, alongside other visiting scholars currently in Regensburg.
