Slavo Radosević is Professor of Industry and Innovation Studies at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES) at UCL since 2006 where he has also been acting director of the SSEES. He will be a visiting professor at the ScienceCampus throughout February 2024, based at IOS.
In his research he explores in particular issues of growth and structural change through innovation systems, entrepreneurship, international business and innovation policy perspectives, with particular reference to central and eastern Europe.
Radosević acts as an expert for the EC, OECD, UNESCO, UNIDO, World Bank, UNECE and Asian Development Bank and several governments in central and eastern Europe (CEE). He has significant policy-making experience in Croatia and ex-Yugoslavia at the highest policy level. He was a special advisor to the EC DG Commissioner for Regional and Urban Policy (2015–2019).
He has published extensively in international journals in these areas and has edited several volumes on these issues. His latest publication Technology Upgrading and Economic Catch-up, a co-edited book with K. Lee, J. D. Lee, D. Meissner and N. Vonortas, was published by Oxford University Press in 2021.
During his stay in Regensburg, he will be working on his new book project, which will attempt a ‘grand synthesis’ of the post-socialist techno-economic transformation from the perspective of neo-Schumpeterian economics.
