The Leibniz ScienceCampus "Europe and America" (LWC) is a joint platform of the University of Regensburg and the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS). The ScienceCampus conducts interdisciplinary research on the relationships between different parts of Europe and America.
We have a position available starting 1 October 2025 as a Student Assistant – SHK (m/f/d) with a working time of 30 hours per month for a fixed term of 12 months. Pay is according to the standard hourly rates for student assistants of the University of Regensburg. Details of the position are outlined below. Your Tasks:
- Managing and developing the public relations output of the Science Campus, including the communication and dissemination of scientific outputs to diverse audiences
- Maintaining and updating the website (www.europeamerica.de) in the CMS Typo3
- Designing and distributing posters as well as other PR materials to promote scientific events, projects, and publications
- Conceptualizing and creating social media content (Instagram, Facebook, Bluesky, LinkedIn, YouTube) with a focus on research communication and knowledge transfer
- Supporting the organization and implementation of Science Campus events (including poster campaigns and other general assistance tasks), particularly for academic conferences, lectures, and workshops
- Conducting research on best practices in research communication
- Supporting and organizing activities within the framework of the scientific “Third Mission” (public engagement and knowledge transfer)
Our Requirements:
- Enrolment at least in the 2nd semester at a German university for a degree program leading to a degree
- Knowledge of the CMS Typo3
- Experience of working with the online design portal Canva
- Experience with relevant social media platforms
- Competence in video editing and processing
- Good English skills (the website and social media posts are predominantly in English)
