International and Interdisciplinary Workshop



19-21 January 2023
Regensburg & Flossenbürg Concentration Camp Memorial and Museum

This interdisciplinary and international workshop is hosted by the Regensburg Leibniz ScienceCampus “Europe and America in the Modern World” and its partners. It features presentations by visiting international scholars as well as by scholars from the University of Regensburg (UR) and the Regensburg Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS). It takes place at the IOS, UR, and the Flossenbürg Concentration Camp Memorial and Museum. Viewing experiences of spatial unfreedom as both a prerequisite and aftermath of modernity, the workshop focuses on resistant and empowering reactions to the experience of being un/free in spaces of different scales.

We look forward to welcoming you to this workshop! Please note that participants are kindly asked to register. Those wishing to travel to Flossenbürg on 20 January should contact un.free@ur.de by 20 December 2022, while registration for the main event is invited by 9 January 2023.
