What can you expect from this workshop:
Publishing articles and papers during your doctorate is expected within the academic community but as early career researcher one hardly knows how to go about it. In this short workshop, organized in the format of a discussion and dialogue between senior researchers and predoctoral and doctoral candidates you will get personal insights how to gain a wider audience for your research along with some valuable experiences of the peer review process.
Ulf Brunnbauer (History), Astrid Ensslin (Digital cultures/ Literary Media), Sabine Rutar (COMPSEES-Journal) and Cindy Wittke (International Law/ International Politics) will share their publication experience from different disciplinary perspectives. Following questions will be guiding for the discussion:
- What is a publication strategy, and why should I have one?
- How to select the right places for my publication?
- How does peer review work at international journals?
- What shall I do with the reviews?
- From a dissertation to a book
