The Leibniz ScienceCampus Europe and America is pleased to be supporting a series of events taking place in Regensburg from 6 November to 1 December 2019. The events examine the local, national and international consequences of the revolutions of 1989 in Central and Eastern Europe.
The Leibniz ScienceCampus Europe and America is pleased to be supporting a series of events taking place in Regensburg from 6 November to 1 December 2019. The events examine the local, national and international consequences of the revolutions of 1989 in Central and Eastern Europe.
On 6 November, figures from the world of politics, culture and business will discuss the impact of the fall of the Iron Curtain on the East Bavarian economy. On 10 November, the legendary Czech/Czechoslovak rock group The Plastic People of the Universe will give a concert in Regensburg. Before that they will be in conversation with Peter Zusi of UCL-SSEES, a partner institution of the ScienceCampus.
On 19 November, the former ZDF journalist Joachim Jauer will discuss his experiences of report on 1989 and its consequences along with the Regensburg-based researchers Marek Nekula and Luminita Gatejel.
Two films exploring the impact of 1989 will follow on 24 November and 1 December.
