Vita Zelenska - successful doctoral defence
We offer our warmest congratulations to Vita Zelenska - the first of the 2020 Leibniz ScienceCampus doctoral cohort to defend a doctoral thesis
Congratulations to Vita Zelenska - the first of the 2020 Leibniz ScienceCampus cohort to defend a doctoral thesis!
Taking a critical approach to traditional ethnographic methods and applying multiple genres in writing, the thesis explores knowledge production on and by displaced migrants in Greece. The study draws on fieldwork conducted in Greece, the USA and Mexico, while exploring the significance of sound and listening for thinking about migration, discplacement and activism.
This innovative and experimental work was supervised by Ger Duijzings of Universität Regensburg and Seeffield, and Anna Carastathis of the Athens-based Feminist Autonomous Centre for Research. Throughout the doctoral degree, Vita participated in the structured PhD programme of the Graduate School and received funding from the ScienceCampus via the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS) in Regensburg and the Leibniz Association.
We wish Vita much success for the future - and to enjoy this present success very much!
