Together with the Center for International and Transnational Area Studies (CITAS), the ScienceCampus is organizing a lecture series titled "Special Relations Revisited: Europa und die USA seit dem 19. Jahrhundert" for the winter semester 2020/21. Researchers from Regensburg, as well as national and international guests, will explore European-American relations and transformations since the nineteenth century.

In the final session of the Research Colloquium Heléna Tóth (University of Bamberg) will explore the "Figure of the 'Transatlantic Emigrant' in Historiography" (via Zoom).

The ScienceCampus Research Module “Towards Multi-Polar and Multi-Scalar Area Studies” invites you to join an online workshop discussing and debating recent developments in area studies. There will be an introductory session with module coordinators Birgit Bauridl and Natali Stegmann on 13 July, followed by two sessions the next day led by experts in the field, Katja Naumann (GWZO Leipzig) and Kerstin Schmidt (Eichstätt-Ingolstadt). In cooperation with CITAS, the ScienceCampus is launching a prize for the best master's thesis or final paper written in Area Studies at the University of Regensburg.

In cooperation with Evangelisches Bildungswerk Regensburg and the Leibniz ScienceCampus Europe and America in the Modern World, the Center for International and Transnational Area Studies has organized a panel discussion with Natalia Gumenyuk (Kyiv), Orysia Lutsevych (London) und Sergej Sumlenny (Kyiv), chaired by Cindy Wittke (Regensburg), to discuss Ukraine's role in the upcoming US presidential election. The event is part of the CITAS Dialog series.
